LEMURIA - KUMARI KANDAM - the cradle for the birth of Human race and Civilisation.
Below the present day Kanyakumari, till the Antartica, there extended a continious strech of land mass, even extending to Madagaskar in the west and Australia in the east. Human Civilisation moved on to the other parts of the world from this cradle. The Early humans moved in from Africa into Lemuria and from there the civilised folks moved out of the area and re-entered India over various periods.
We are able to excavate light symmetrical stone tools ( hand axes. Cleavers) in Attirampakkam ( Thiruvallur district) of North Tamilndu, which based on Radio Carbon dating, dates back to 75,000 Years ago..:)
Even 20,000 years back , Tamilnadu and Srilanka was 1 united land mass. In the foothills of Adam's peak in Srilanka, 460 metres above the sea level. this traces back to 28,500 years ago. That time, sea levels were 300 feet lower than the present levels !
